FLOODING OF THE RONDOUT VALLEY 2005

Here are some photos of the terrible flooding of the Rondout Creek.

The Rondout Creek as it flows over the High Falls dam.
Looking down at the rapids that was LeFevre Falls.

The water is starting to rise! Four steps to go but more than four are already covered!
The steps are gone!

The creek is closing in on the road.
OOPS! Road closed!

The insideous water just keeps rising!
.....and rising!

It got pretty deep over the roadway.
The debris line shows how close the rising water got to entering the basement.

These poor people! You can't get there from here!
