This is an OEM Ford Dealer shop manual in a genuine Ford binder.
The Foreword says this is the original 1939 issue of this manual
and that it was intended to incorporate all of the Service Bulletins issued in 1938 as well as leave room for future Bulletins and updates. There
are 20 Sections with tabs in a hard cover binder trimmed with a steel edge so it would hold up under years of hard use in the dealer’s service department.
The Foreword lists over 200 pages in the original manual but besides these 1938 copyrighted pages there are plenty of updates from 1939, 1940, 1941 and
some from May 1944 (about the 1942 models as they didn't make anything newer during the War). This particular manual seems to have just as many updates as there were original pages and could have close to 400
wonderful pages in total with all of the updates. Lots of info on the Ford V8 and V12 as well as the 4 and 6 cylinder engines and full specifications
of Ford cars and trucks from 1932 right up to the 1942 models. (I didn't know Ford offered a 45HP 4 cylinder in 1942 3/4 and 1 ton pickups!)
The book and contents is in good condition. Feel free to ask me for more photos. Although some pages are faded or soiled from
use, most are clean and legible as shown in these photos. The front and back pages have the blue stain as shown that must be dye from the inside
cover of the binder. The other pages do not have this blue stain. All in all, this is a very interesting and presentable 70 year old original containing
lots of wonderful information about early Fords.
